FABIAN FACCIO


(born in 1966 in Argentina) studied music education at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. His debut recital was at the age of 13. In 1986, he performed in the premiere of the "Missa Folklorica Cuyana" by Alberto Rodriguez for chorus, piano and orchestra, which was later broadcast on radio. His first composition published in 1993 was "Study" for piano. In 1994 the National Conference of Piano Pedagogy (in the USA) invited him to perform two of his compositions published by Alfred Publishing. In 1996 Regina Bachauer International Piano Competition elected two of his works for their competition list. He has a growing composition catalog, published by Alfred Publishing and Classics of Ebony Music Enterprises. In 1990 he received a 5-year scholarship to study piano at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D. C. In 1993 he was invited to participate at Dimitri Bashariov Masterclass at L’Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, Madrid. He was also awarded two summer scholarships in Spain, and several others in the USA. He graduated in May 1998 from the University of Maryland in Spanish Literature and Language. Besides teaching at the Ottley Music Studio, he coaches Spanish privately and on line for the University of Maryland. He performs throughout the Washington D. C. metropolitan area.
